About

Born on December 21, 1989, Edmond Hawii moved to United States of America in 1999 at ten years of age. Having a strong will and mind and a desire to do something positive for herself, her family, and her people, Julia Lwoyero Kisia, Edmond’s Mother, moved to United States of America seeking greener pastures after the death of her late husband, Peter Obam. He died in 1992. Edmond grew up fatherless.

In November of 2017, Edmond awoke to a nightmare. What started out as “The American Dream”, ended up being an actual nightmare. Julia Lwoyero Kisia suffered a stroke while at work. She finished her shift and then took herself to the hospital. She would later be diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Edmond’s hero was on ground zero. The sudden realization that he squandered his mother’s gift (education) was too much to bear. Edmond resorted to Sex, Alcohol, and Drugs as his escape from his hellish nightmare, but to no avail. Edmond would spend the next two years going in and out of psych wards. In March of 2019, Edmond was diagnosed with Bipolar Schizophrenia as they prescribed him medicine to numb his new reality; however, “once you are raised up, you cannot go back to sleep.”
